Mike and Bill are coworkers and best friends who are laid off in a plant closing.

Bill gets into sales, for the freedom it gives him from his wife, and tries to coax Mike to join him, but Mike balks. After an unsuccessful job search, Mike halfheartedly falls into dancing at Hard Candy, a male strip club.

In a dark private room at Hard Candy, Mike smells familiar aftershave and lip balm. Big changes can be for the better.
